In 1986,
Muslim extremists kidnapped four Soviet diplomats, demanding Moscow’s support
for pro-Syrian terrorists on Lebanon.
They were ignored, so one of the hostages was murdered. The KGB then kidnapped a Hezbollah’s family
member. His genitalia were then shipped to the leader
of Hezbollah with a note saying the leader’s other family members would suffer
the same if the Soviet diplomats were not released or there were other attempts
at kidnapping Soviets.
The soviet
hostages were released and no other Soviet person has ever been taken gain.
